Teaspoon Projects is delighted to present the group exhibition Look at the Lights, My Love, which draws on the oeuvre of Annie Ernaux – the Nobel laureate renowned for her spare, incisive explorations of memory, class, and the passage of time. The exhibition reflects her probing inquiry into how time is registered and remembered – and whether memory, recent or distant, can ever truly be linear or entirely individual.
Taking its title from Ernaux’s diaristic essay Look at the Lights, My Love, the presentation reframes the concept of the superstore not merely as a site of consumption, but as a vast social theatre. In this context, the gallery – like the superstore – becomes a space of quiet intersection, where lives brush against each other and gestures, desires, and histories accumulate in subtle, sometimes unnoticed ways: moments layered, floating atop one another.
